The summer slide is a decline in reading ability and other academic skills that can occur over the summer months when school isn't in session. Participating in the Sterling Public Library's Summer Reading Program will help prevent this decline. Reading during the summer can be for the enjoyment of the kids, not just what the curriculum demands.
