Chaharshanbe Suri is an ancient Iranian fire festival celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday of the Persian year, just before Nowruz. With roots dating back over 2,000–3,000 years to pre-Islamic Persia, it is often associated with Zoroastrian traditions, where fire represents purity, light, and divine energy.

During the celebration, people light bonfires and jump over the flames, chanting a phrase that means “my paleness to you, your redness to me.” This symbolizes letting go of illness, negativity, and misfortune from the past year, while welcoming health, energy, and vitality for the year ahead.

Chaharshanbe Suri also marks the transition from winter to spring, serving as a joyful prelude to the Persian New Year.



چهارشنبه‌سوری یکی از جشن‌های باستانی ایرانی است که در شب آخرین چهارشنبه سال، پیش از نوروز، برگزار می‌شود. ریشه‌های این جشن به بیش از ۲۰۰۰ تا ۳۰۰۰ سال پیش و دوران پیش از اسلام بازمی‌گردد و اغلب با آیین زرتشتی مرتبط دانسته می‌شود، جایی که آتش نماد پاکی، روشنایی و نیروی الهی است.

در این جشن، مردم آتش روشن می‌کنند و از روی شعله‌ها می‌پرند و جمله‌ای می‌گویند به این معنا که «زردی من از تو، سرخی تو از من». این کار نمادی است از رهایی از بیماری، ضعف و بدشانسی سال گذشته و دریافت سلامتی، انرژی و شادابی برای سال جدید.

چهارشنبه‌سوری همچنین نمادی از گذار از زمستان به بهار است و به‌عنوان پیش‌درآمدی شاد برای آغاز سال نو ایرانی جشن گرفته می‌شود
