💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

As summer begins, life may start to feel a little slower—but your mental health still matters. 🌿

Summer can be a great time to:
☀️ Rest and recharge
💛 Reconnect with yourself and others
🧠 Focus on healthy routines and self-care
🌱 Check in on your emotional well-being

Remember, taking care of yourself isn’t only important during stressful seasons. Prioritizing your mental health year-round can help you feel more balanced, supported, and resilient.

We are so proud of Mikayleigh, Kyra, Gabby, and Hannah for all of their hard work, compassion, and dedication throughout their time with Student Counseling Services. This group brought positivity, professionalism, and genuine care to our office and the students we serve every day.

It has been a privilege to watch each of them grow into skilled clinicians, and we cannot wait to see the impact they will continue to make in the mental health profession. Congratulations, graduates — we are cheering you on every step of the way! 💜

As you push through the final stretch, remember that study breaks are essential for staying focused and avoiding burnout:
⏱️ Take a 5–10 minute break every hour
🚶 Step away from your desk—stretch, walk, or get some fresh air
📵 Give your mind a rest from screens when you can

Need a place to reset? The Relaxation Room is open Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM—stop by to unwind, recharge, and take a break from the stress. 💛

🌿 Wellness Wednesday Tip 🌿

Finish the semester strong 💪

Managing stress is key. Try supporting your mind, body, and soul with small, intentional acts of self-care:

🧠 Mind: Break tasks into manageable steps and focus on one thing at a time
🏃 Body: Get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and move your body- maybe even check out Campus Rec for a quick workout
💛 Soul: Make time for what recharges you—music, friends, nature, or quiet moments

Remember, taking care of yourself helps you stay focused, balanced, and resilient through the final stretch. You’ve got this!

🌼 Wellness Wednesday Tip 🌼

Hey Texans! Spring Break is right around the corner!

Take this time to unplug, unwind, and give yourself some time (and space). Whether that means getting extra rest, spending time with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors, or simply taking a break from screens and schoolwork—self-care matters.

Wherever Spring Break takes you, remember to take care of yourself—you deserve it. 💛
