The Steger Fire Department wishes a Happy Father's Day to all the dads and father figures in our community. We also want to thank all village personnel and our own department fathers who serve the Village, missing time with their families to keep our community safe and ensure our daily operations run smoothly. INCIDENT UPDATE

Late yesterday evening, Steger Fire Department personnel responded to a reported structure fire at 31 East 34th Place. The initial dispatch was received at 22:29.

First arriving apparatus found a well-involved fire in an unattached garage. On-scene crews immediately initiated defensive operations and a rapid fire attack, bringing the fire under control shortly after arrival.

We are pleased to report that the structure was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel.
