Spring Creek Chapter Trout Unlimited invites community members of all ages to the 10th Annual Family Fishing Picnic. This free, family-friendly event offers a fun-filled afternoon of fishing, outdoor activities, and environmental education!

Centred Outdoors is leading a guided outing of Galbraith Gap at 1 & 3pm. Look out for the Centred Outdoors flag – they will be walking towards the forest from Tussey Mountain Pond!

Join us for a free, fun, and family-friendly evening at Walker Township Park in Bellefonte, PA, to learn about the Little Fishing Creek watershed stewardship plan and discover ways you can care for the land and water around you.

🌳💧There will be engaging programming at the park from 5-7pm followed by an off-site stream buffer tour at 7pm for interested participants!

🏡🌱 Building for the Future of Conservation

ClearWater Conservancy is excited to share more about the sustainable design of the future Hamer Community Conservation Center — a space intentionally designed to reduce energy use, lower carbon emissions, and demonstrate conservation-focused building practices. This work is made possible in part through support from the West Penn Energy Fund.

A major focus of the project is the building’s high-performance envelope — including the walls, roof systems, insulation, air barriers, and glazing — designed to minimize heat loss, reduce air leakage, and improve year-round energy efficiency.

Key features include:
🏗️ High-performance wall and roof assemblies
🌬️ Advanced insulation and air sealing systems
🪟 Bird-friendly, high-performance glazing
☀️ Daylighting strategies to reduce reliance on artificial lighting

ClearWater partnered with Envinity, Inc. to provide building envelope commissioning services and help ensure long-term performance and sustainability goals are achieved.

Designed collaboratively by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and Reese Hackman, the conservation center will serve as both a gathering place and a visible example of environmental stewardship in action.

ClearWater Conservancy staff, board members, and partners celebrated a major milestone at the future Hamer Community Conservation Center with a topping-out ceremony for the building’s mass timber frame!

Attendees signed the final beam before it was raised into place, symbolizing the collaboration behind the project. The new center honors the site’s historic barn while embracing sustainable, conservation-minded design.

Join Jordan and Bethany Temchack of Holy Crick Records for a guided forest hike featuring live music and poetry. Their band, Rumble & Scream, will share songs and stories along the trail, alongside special guest poet Todd Davis, a retired Penn State Altoona professor and acclaimed author.

The 1.5-mile loop in Wopsononock Natural Area includes four stops for performances, with time in between for walking, conversation, and reflection.🎶🌱🌳

Centre Gives 2026 has come to a close and we are overcome with gratitude by the continued support we receive. Thanks to our ClearWater community, we raised $76,553 from 355 donors and won three $500 prizes!
