Step by Step is a school for early childhood education and development, serving the needs of young children and their families in the State College area. Step by Step accepts infants and children between the ages of 0 and 5 for full-time or part-time enrollment, as well as school-aged children for summer camp and for before- and after-school care.

As the Week of the Young Child comes to an end…

Thank you all who helped us celebrate! We honor this week to encourage educators, families, and communities to come together. WOYC helps remind us how important play, creativity, and collaboration is in our child’s development.

We celebrated Week of the Young Child 100 days into NAEYC’s 100th year. Young children and educators DO make a difference every single day.

Did your child tell you what they did this week? Music Monday, some classes paraded around to classrooms to preform while others sang songs around the lunch table. Tasty Tuesday, yummy fruit “pizzas”! Wednesday, we collected items to donate to PAWS. Thursday, each classroom worked together to paint rocks to brighten our front entrance. Friday, we learned everyone’s favorite memory from 2025.

What a joyful week! The weather was beautiful to top it all off. Thank you for celebrating us, young children and educators.

During our annual back-to-school staff in-service day today, our Step by Step team participated in a professional development seminar about Conscious Discipline, our fantastic a social emotional curriculum all about connection!
