Evidence-based Prevention and Intervention Support (EPIS) is a project of the Prevention Research Center, College of Health and Human Development, at Penn State University. EPIS is supported through funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

The Shapiro Administration is stepping in to keep lifesaving overdose prevention supplies available at no cost across Pennsylvania.
In response to the Trump Administration’s restrictions on federal funding for drug testing strips, Pennsylvania will continue providing fentanyl and xylazine test strips through our Overdose Prevention Program. These supplies will be funded with opioid settlement dollars secured by Governor Josh Shapiro when he was Attorney General.
Since 2023, more than 2 million test strips have been distributed across the Commonwealth — helping Pennsylvanians make safer decisions and prevent fatal overdoses.
