Penn State Percussion Studio

so excited to announce our full roster for the Percussion @ Penn State Festival & Conference + Marimba Solo Competition!

will be spending a half-week residency at the Penn State School of Music from 4/1 - 4/4 where they will perform a concert on Friday night @ 7:30. They will also perform with both our Percussion Ensemble and our High School Honors Percussion Ensemble students with ’s portals.

Sandbox Percussion will also be giving seminar to our students prior to judging our finalists for the Marimba Solo Competition.

Along with Sandbox Percussion, .music and will be presenting there clinics to our students and attendees!

Thanks to you may win a practice marimba for each division of competition! This would be a 5.0 octave for the collegiate division and a 4.3 octave for the high school division!

We will have many door prizes from the generosity of .1961 and ! These prizes will also be available to win through the Marimba Solo Competition!

We’re so proud of one of our grad students, Gabriella Reyna, as she makes her PASIC compositional debut this week! After premiering her piece, “Sync”, with duo partner at the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy this past May, she was quickly asked if she’d like to have her piece performed by the LSU Percussion Group as part of their New Literature Session at PASIC.
Join us in cheering her on this Thursday at 11AM in the Wabash Ballroom as the LSU Percussion Group takes the stage!

This past Sunday, our amazing percussion professor put on an amazing recital for the Penn State Rhapsody Series. Along with some incredible solo rep, Lee also was accompanied by some of the PSU Percussion Studio. At the conclusion of the recital was a celebration for the Armstrong Duo! Made up of Dan and Eleanor Armstrong, the Armstrong Duo has contributed so much to Penn State and its music students.

Welcome back to the start of a brand new semester! So many amazing and beautiful music endeavors already starting to manifest within our studio. With concerts already on the horizon, the percussion studio is working harder than ever. It’s good to be back . .
