This National Canoe Day, we’re diving into the basics of paddling!🛶

There’s a reason so many people fall in love with paddling. Canoeing feels approachable, almost effortless. But water demands respect, and getting on it safely takes skill, knowledge, and focus. So where do you begin?

Our Assistant Program Coordinator, Dave Gantz, breaks it all down in his latest blog post. Head to the link below to read more!

🌩 We regret to inform you that the Bilger's Rocks guided outing for tonight is cancelled due to thunderstorms. Wet conditions also add risk on these rock surfaces even without thunder and lightning.

We are sorry for any inconvenience!

During a Forest Therapy walk, trained Forest Therapy guide, Mary Price, uses a clearly defined sequence of events and invitations in partnership with the forest which allows participants to slow down, open their senses, and experience the environment.

Mary has a deep reverence for all natural settings, and as a forest therapy guide, she partners with nature to facilitate safe gentle walks with a focus on sensory immersion in the present moment.💚🧘🌿

This 118-acre tract along Standing Stone Creek features remarkable stands of old-growth forest, including hemlock, white pine, and yellow birch. Interspersed among these ancient trees is a layer of younger growth, such as white oak, red maple, rhododendron, black gum, and pignut hickory.

Unlike many surrounding areas, this landscape was largely spared from logging in the late 19th century, allowing it to retain its ecological integrity. In 1921, it was formally preserved for its scientific, scenic, and educational significance. The site is associated with Alan Seeger, an American war poet, Harvard graduate, and uncle of folk singer Pete Seeger.
