𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐊𝐃𝐏𝐡𝐢: I was drawn to the sisterhood and closely knitted friendships in aKDPhi. Another reason is that ever since I moved from New York to Philadelphia, I lost a lot of friends who shared the same cultural experiences as me, and I felt more distant from the Asian community and my own Asian background (although I did gain many precious friendships along the way with diverse groups of people). Therefore, I wanted to join an inclusive community where we can celebrate each other’s heritage and promote Asian awareness.

The process also allowed me to see the professional side of the sorority and I believe that it is worth developing friendships and connections with these people, as they can help me in a variety of ways, such as with mental health and future career, etc.
