Turning photos into visual stories.

In group, participants used pictures they took during their greenhouse visit the week before to build visual stories on their tablets. Activities like this help strengthen communication, sequencing, and storytelling while connecting experiences from one day to the next.

They also spent time coloring buttons and have become increasingly independent making them with just a little assistance. And of course, there was some excitement about earning gym time in the house and collecting points along the way.

Moments like these are part of everyday life at ACRES, where learning happens through shared experiences, creativity, and a little fun along the way.

Jake spent time planting more bok choy and moving some of the seedlings he started into one of the NFT growing towers.

Tasks like this are part of the daily rhythm in the greenhouse — checking plants, transplanting seedlings, and keeping the growing systems running smoothly.

The work helps participants build hands-on experience while learning how food can be grown in innovative indoor systems.

Join us at Tussey Mountain every Thursday this summer for WingFest! Enjoy great live music, vote on your favorite wings, and beat the heat with a cold drink. This year, the ACRES Project will have a booth at WingFest every week, so stop by to say hello and enter our raffle! We're also excited to announce that a portion of proceeds from this summer's WingFest series will benefit The ACRES Project, thanks to the generosity of our friends at Tussey Mountain! We're very grateful for their support and the support of our community as we work to make the Centre Region a place where all kinds of minds can work, learn, and thrive.

The greenhouse was busy today at ACRES as participants harvested a variety of produce and learned how to properly wash and package it afterward.

The group also spent time playing Simon Says, with each participant taking a turn leading the activity.

Later in the day, creativity took over with bumblebee and ladybug crafts, followed by colorful sidewalk art outside in the sunshine.
