Whatโ€™s amazing about Red Byrd is its deep cavern and secluded woodlands.

Moody Restored Lovely Red โ˜๏ธ
๐Ÿ“ The Red was in its raw, subtle early summer flow as rain poured over the lush green landscape of the gorge. I try my best to get out in this environment, to feel the gorge rest and renew. Its calm is comforting as birds happily chirp along while absent crowds give way to magnificent private and intimate showings. Like seeing your favorite band play in a coffee shop with few others. Nature often reflects against our life seasons. If youโ€™re not feeling restored, maybe itโ€™s time to take a break and reconnect before entering the summer months.

Thereโ€™s a reason why Kentuckians are fleeing to our wildlands. Weโ€™re inundated with technology, and these places allow us to reconnect to what matters. Simplicity, silence, stillness, our roots, and something real.

The perfect spring creek walk๐Ÿƒ Copperas Falls - Clifty Wilderness- RRG
๐Ÿ“ I swear there must be a sinkhole hiding all the water at the base of Copperas Creek because it was dry! As we approached the falls the water began showing good signs of flow. The creek was absolutely gorgeous. You step into another world here with ferns lining trails, wildflowers everywhere, giant rock boulders and steep cliff lines peaking through the forest floor. I really detest the maintenance of this area though. The more use it gets the more destructive it is for this gem of a creek gorge. Someday I hope we can get investment in real user paths in the gorge, especially on newly populated routes like this one.

Full Moon over Appalachian Hillside - Berea, KY
๐Ÿ“ Last night and tonight you can see the full moon close to sunset rise into the night sky. Itโ€™s quite a site! I wanted to share this photo of the moon over Berea and to say a prayer for those affected by the bank robbery there yesterday. Iโ€™m grateful they caught the man today and that there will be justice for those two workers lost in the situation. Send some love today and see what you can do to support the community at this time. ๐Ÿ’”

Spring nights in the Red River Gorge
๐Ÿ“ Skylar and I went out to find some stars while the moon was setting and skies were shining. The quarter moon was epic as we laid out above Double Arch with big bright stars twinkling around it. The wildflowers were incredible and the trail was full Narnia vibing. We felt lucky to be there in these elements. I forgot my sleeping pad and wasnโ€™t about to do an all nighter on the rocks so I opted to head out early. All in all an excellent night.
