Join us this morning from 10:00 till 12:00 for the launch of a our “Traveling Tales” Activity Mobile! we are under the large pavilion. They are having ball tournaments…be aware when parking!

Our “Growing Vegetable Soup” program was a great success! Thank you to our community partners for their support in offering wonderful programs to our Powell County patrons!

Mercy Primary-Powell County/Marcum Wallace Hospital, Powell County Health Department , and CECC.

These smart kiddos know how to start the summer off right…with their very own library cards! Brilliant!

In 2025, the Powell County Public Library received a grant to transform our bookmobile into a more interactive traveling literature based activity experience titled The TRAVELING TALES ACTIVITY MOBILE. We have had it out a few times but are hosting our official grand “opening” this Saturday, June 13, 10:00-12:00 at the Stanton City Park. The upcoming events will be both scheduled and pop-up, so check our library calendar, webpage, and page to see where the fun will be!
This Saturday’s event will include:
-A story/puppet of the Three Billy Goats Gruff
-A robot story with movement and instruments
- Introducing a new story at the story walk around the park…The Tortoise and the Hare
- Sensory play activities
-Large building blocks and Dino building bones
- A colorful, interactive “hopscotch” path
- A free book for each child
-treats and more!
We hope you can join us for the beginning of this new journey!

Our crafters made beautiful summer wreaths!

We had a special visit from Roscoe the Macaw and got to see this beautiful bird up close and personal!! Thank you to his owners Alan and Michelle for sharing him with us!

It was a Perfect Pete the cat Pizza Party! We Painted Pete, and had a Potluck of Pretzels, Popcorn, Pickles, Pistachios, Papaya and, of course, PIZZA!
