When I say we carefully match students with educators,

I am also thinking about personality, confidence, communication style, academic needs, goals, and how the student responds to different kinds of support.

Some students need someone very calm and patient.

Some need to rebuild confidence before the academics really start to move.

And sometimes, what a parent thinks the student needs at first is only part of the picture.

That is why the matching process matters so much to us.

The goal is not simply to find someone who can teach the subject.

A student can have an incredibly knowledgeable teacher and still not connect with the way that person teaches.

Significant Educators was founded by Eric Sigman after more than 25 years in education across the NY tristate area, including STEM leadership and school administration.

That experience, combined with personally running Significant Educators, gives Eric a unique perspective when families reach out. It’s not just about finding someone who knows the subject. It’s about understanding the student and finding the right educator for that particular student.

Because knowing algebra and knowing how to teach algebra to your child are two very different things.

We want better grades and stronger test scores, of course. But ultimately, we’re working toward something bigger: confidence and independence.

It’s still early in the school year.
