There’s a quote from Chuck Close that said “Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work.” I spent the better part of 2019-2023 waiting for some inspiration to point me in the right direction. It never came. So this year I’ve been trying to show up, and do the work. Experimenting with both new and old mediums and materials, and hopefully the process reveals some insights. I have about 10 projects in some form of progress right now 😆, so here’s some moments. Let’s get it!

When you’ve lost your way as a creative person over 4 years, it’s hard to post to social media unless you finished something. But it’s still constructive to post “works in progress”, right? Let’s give that a try.

When we’re not making art, we also make beer! Previously we used other people’s recipes. But on Halloween night we bottled our first original recipe that we call Earth Room Ale, an 8.0% abv dark ale. It might end up tasting like either ambrosia or motor oil (we’ll take somewhere in between) but the point is to try new things, be creative, and keep refining!
