On the eve of Juneteenth, we were honored to welcome back Dr. Robert Livingston to the library for a thoughtful conversation about his latest book, Play the Game. Change the Game. Leave the Game: Pathways to Black Empowerment, Prosperity, and Joy.

Moderated by Michael Hyman of Domus, the discussion explored Black empowerment while examining the challenges and opportunities that shape our communities today.

As we commemorate , we’re grateful for opportunities to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful dialogue about equity and the ongoing pursuit of justice.

Thank you to Dr. Livingston, Michael Hyman, our partners at Domus, and everyone who joined us for this special evening.

Fairy tales don’t always end with “happily ever after.”

Kay’s latest obsession? The Salt Grows Heavy, a chilling and imaginative spin on The Little Mermaid that combines horror with unforgettable characters.

Would you add this one to your TBR? 🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️👀

What does belonging look like in LGBTQIA+ spaces?

Join us tonight at Ferguson Library's Harry Bennett Branch for a screening of Shape: When Idolisation Leads to Exclusion. This documentary explores how dating apps, social media, and gym culture shape body image and standards of acceptance within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with LGBTQIA+ counselor Dr. Matthew Phillips (PhD, MEd, LCSW, CST) and LGBTQIA+ health and disordered eating expert Dr. Lauren Matera (DO, MPH, FAAP).

Most people know our very own Cameron Dahl as the adult services librarian at W**d Memorial & Hollander Branch.

On June 30, he'll take his place behind the piano for a summer recital featuring original arrangements of jazz standards.

Bring a lawn chair, settle in and enjoy an hour of live music. In the event of rain, the program will move indoors to the Harry Bennett Branch.

Meet our incredible Teen Ambassadors!

These students spent the past year giving back to the Ferguson Library while balancing classes, exams, activities, and everything else that comes with being a teenager. Through their service, they helped lead programs, connect their peers with library resources, and brought their own ideas to life during events and workshops.

From coding classes to debate clubs, Dungeons & Dragons, financial literacy, and science fairs, their impact can be felt throughout the Library.

Give it up for our incredible group of teens. 👏💯
