The ocean currents have brought By-the-Wind-Sailors (Velella velellas) to us again. These jaunty jellyfish relatives are gorgeous shades of blues, periwinkle and silver. With their amazingly stable blue “hulls” and silvery clear “sails”, they travel in huge fleets like toy boats from far across the Pacific. I love encountering them out surfing, but am always sad to see them wash ashore in the thousands at their journey’s end. Truly beautiful and miraculous.

Thank you to the man who underestimates his contribution to Find Weatherly, calling himself “the Trailing Spouse,” for making some Easter cheer happen while I was 3,000 miles away!

I know why I pursue this challenging business when a piece goes to the perfect person! This adorable c.1930 35” x 52” Noah’s Ark hooked rug is going to a grandmother of 9 for her Maine summer home playroom. She says “It makes me smile every time I look at it.” I couldn’t agree more and a terrific reason to acquire a piece!
