We exist to empower people to attack poverty in their life and community by strengthening under-resourced communities.
We love bringing together communities of resource with communities of need. Our Friends Inititatives are long-term partnerships with local churches, residents and stakeholders who are committed to community transformation. Our initiatives include: clean water-projects, mentoring & tutoring, literacy, GED completion, soft-skills job training and home repair.

BurgerFest 2026 was a delicious success! 🍔 Over at Friends of North Rosenberg, 29 incredible volunteers served a combined 195 hours alongside our primary partner, The Sheepfold Ministry, to throw a fundraiser benefiting The Overflow Food Pantry. Thanks to a chip donation from Frito-Lay and your giving hearts, we raised a net profit of $625.65 to support families facing food insecurity! Thank you to everyone who flipped a burger or bought a plate!

How do you spread community wellness? If you're Vivian and Jose, you do it one concha-shaped butter mold at a time! 🧈 Wellness Wednesday participants learned about healthy fats and made homemade butter while walking a mile. Inspired, Vivian brought the lesson home, using a silicone mold shaped like traditional Mexican sweet bread to share beautiful, healthy butter gifts with neighbors and church members. We love seeing our participants pass along the joy of healthy living! 🍞❤️
We believe the next generation flourishes when they are supported academically, spiritually, and relationally. That is why investing in children today creates stronger families and communities tomorrow.

Fathers, grandfathers, mentors, coaches, and father figures help shape the next generation through their presence, guidance, and encouragement. Their influence often extends far beyond what they can see, creating confidence, character, and hope that lasts a lifetime.
Everyone wants to know that someone cares.
For many families, community becomes most meaningful during life's most difficult moments. A flood, a crisis, or an unexpected setback can change everything in a matter of hours. What people often remember most is not the event itself, but who showed up alongside them.
At Attack Poverty, we believe transformation begins with relationships. When neighbors know they are seen, valued, and supported, hope grows. Communities become stronger because people know they do not have to face challenges alone.

Fort Bend County has partnered with Attack Poverty to open a cooling center at our Friends of North Rosenberg location this Friday (June 19th) from 12 PM to 6:00 PM to provide a safe, cool place for neighbors in need.
Attack Poverty values its longstanding partnership with Fort Bend County's Office of Emergency Management. The County's Cooling Center will provide safety and support for all of our community members.

Meet Marzio. After moving to Texas to be closer to his daughter, Marzio worked tirelessly to rebuild his life. Even while facing homelessness, he maintained full-time work and utilized our local resources to stay on track. This past month, his resilience was rewarded: he received a raise, was approved for a housing voucher, and thanks to community donations, his new 2-bedroom apartment is fully furnished! 🏠❤️ Next up, he’s joining a Faith & Finances class to keep building a sustainable future for his family.
