On we want to highlight a favorite recent project from our Youth Initiative.
This Spring we partnered with Larimore Elementary in the Hazelwood School District to create a mural with their 5th grade class to capture what they value about their school community. The students worked with our teaching artists to brainstorm, sketch, and then paint the 29-foot outside the school’s library.

Tomorrow, on , we hope you'll consider giving to the ONLY arts organization in Missouri focused on the stories of the working class and their families. For a decade, our mission has been the same: to amplify and elevate the stories of working people through art, performance, and activism.
Your donation on Give STL Day 2025 will help support our Workers' Theater Projects, including our new project, The Workers' Choir, a no-audition, inclusive choir that give working people the opportunity to experience the joy of singing in community. Plus, we'll premiere our next Workers' Opera in October, 2026!

Last night was the inaugural rehearsal for the Workers' Choir! Thank you to everyone who was able to join for an exciting and invigorating night. It was a pleasure to meet friends that were both first-time attendees and long-time patrons of Bread and Roses.
With this, our hope is to keep on building a welcoming space where people can come together each other to be in community and in choir! No audition. No expectations. Just the joy of music and community!
Be sure to follow .stl on Instagram for rehearsal updates and more behind-the-scenes content!
