Our fall 2025 issue is available for preorder now. Perhaps our quirkiest issue in years, “Plum” takes thematic inspiration from William Carlos Williams’s poem “This Is Just to Say,” and was borne out of our desire to see what poets, fiction writers, and essayists can do when writing out of a single, simple—albeit delicious—word.

Featuring poetry by Mathilda Merouani, Marc McKee, Spencer Short, and Hanan Akbari.

Fiction by Megan Paslawski, Meagan Arthur, Leah Halper, Kathleen DeGrave, and Allison Field Bell.

Nonfiction by Jesse Rasmussen and Hantian Zhang.

Interview with Jessica Johns.

Artwork by Dominic Fi*****io.

Cover artwork, “Roses,” by Maryn Blanco.
