The fifth and final day of First Responder Camp was the perfect culmination to a long, challenging week that connected future leaders from across the county.
Campers began the day with a visit to The Saint Louis County Office of Emergency Management where they worked through a tabletop scenario attempting to contain a zombie outbreak by coordinating resources.
After the zombie apocalypse was avoided, a lengthy visit from a group of therapy dogs in training brought everyone back to a happy place.
Returning to camp, we finished the regular hours with lunch, kickball, and gaga ball before beginning graduation preparations.
In the early evening, friends, families, and department leaders came together to celebrate the tremendous efforts of the campers. Special thank you to Acting Chief of Police Juan Cox for taking the time to speak to the group.
It’s time to rest up for the weekend. Sports camps for the younger kids begin Monday!
