This organization platform is to educate, edify and empower survivors and their families with knowledge about abuse to make informed decisions to move into a violent-free environment; and resources, career skill, and entrepreneurial training to be self-sufficient to pave their way financially. In just a matter of weeks, we’ve lost five women and countless others to intimate partner violence. This is not isolated. This is not rare. This is exactly why JADASA’s mission matters.
If we’re going to talk about abuse, we have to tell the truth about it. It doesn’t always leave bruises. It doesn’t always look like violence. And too often, it hides in plain sight.
It’s not just a black eye. It’s the condescending comments. Its always YOU being the brunt of the joke. It’s the tension that follows your joy. It’s the double standards. The control. The quiet shifting of power. It’s the isolation that happens so slowly you don’t notice it at first.
JADASA exists for this exact reason; to name what’s hard to see, to support what’s hard to say, and to stand in the gap for women who may not yet see a way out.
We say their names with honor.
We remember them as more than headlines. They were mothers. Sisters. Friends. Leaders and Loved.
Now more than ever, women must stand together boldly, protect each other fiercely and speak up for each other quickly without hesitation.
