Today, I decided to spend some of my hard earned money with a small business. I tried Ray’s Turkey Legs & Soul Food for the first time, and I had a few thoughts on the mashed potatoes and green beans.

What small business should I try next?

Just finished my yearly mammogram and everything went great. While doing a home breast exam last year, I found a large lump on my right breast. I scheduled an emergency exam which required an ultrasound to get a closer look at the lump. Turns out it was a cyst that eventually burst and was absorbed by my body.

I was so scared at the thought of having breast cancer that I started looking at all my finances and even began making a will. Breast health is extremely important, so I hope everyone is getting their yearly exams.

The recipes are safe with us 👍🏾

They say we’re losing recipes. To that I say, “not on my watch”. The family reunion is in full effect and I’m so excited!

Conditioned to stress 🫨

Everything isn’t an emergency and I don’t have to constantly live in “flight or fight” mode.

It’s so hard being a baddie 😩

Today is quite possibly the Mondayest Monday that ever Mondayed.

Would I drive to Opus Kitchen + Lounge 🤷🏾‍♀️

I visited this spot on Thursday to check out their happy hour specials and to rate the experience.

Parking: big lot with multiple entrances
Atmosphere: grown and sexy with good music
Drinks: excellent variety, heavy pours 👀
Food: best shrimp tacos I’ve EVER had

Overall, I would say that Opus is indeed worth the drive from Illinois aaaaalllll the way to U City.

The curse of student loans 🧙‍♀️🧟‍♀️
