Our 2022 Flance potato harvest is in honor of farmer John Wilkerson.
John was a founding volunteer in the Flance school garden, going back to its construction in 2017. He passed away May 28, 2022, at the age of 80. He planted potatoes every spring with the children and helped them each harvest a bag to take home to their families. Despite health challenges, he planted potatoes with the classes this past March, which we harvested today. We'll carry on the tradition each year in his memory.
