We're still going strong tonight with our incredibly delicious special!

Japchae 잡채 (chaap-chay) is one of Korea's most POPULAR dishes!! These chewy, savory, and slippery sweet potato starch noodles are one of a kind, with each vegetable prepped individually. Wilted garlic spinach, sautéed garlic carrots, marinated bell peppers, marinaded sweet and savory shiitake mushrooms, and kimchi onions all come together with the silky, translucent noodles to make a flavor-bursting bite!

This dish is vegan friendly AND gluten free. My Japchae will be topped with scallions and toasted sesame seeds. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND adding protein and an egg to the dish to round out full flavor.

I will also have my trusty Bibimbap and Korean Street Tacos available so come on in this weekend! Get the special as well as one of everything else and share with friends and fam in the true Korean way.

Tiny Chef's Japchae

It's Sunday, 5/31, come by for Tiny Chef's Chili Crisp Noodles with Tteokbokki!!!

A generous portion of Korean udon noodles and plump, chewy tteokbokki is tossed in this insanely delicious (and not too spicy!) chili crisp sauce. It gets topped with Pecorino Romano cheese (VEGAN cheese available, too), fresh chiffonade red spinach, scallions, toasted sesame seeds, and a light sprinkle of gochugaru pepper flakes.

In Korea, we love adding Kewpie mayo to our noodle dishes to take the flavors to another level of delight. Vegan mayo is also available! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND adding the above along with a beautiful sunny egg and a protein of your choice for an upcharge.

While the noodles are not gluten-free, an order of just the tteokbokki (ONLY for those who have a gluten intolerance) can be made. This way, no one has to miss out on this dish!!!

Korean Chili Crisp Noodles
WITH Tteokbokki IS BACK at Tiny Chef!

We've been in the kitchen this week making my chili crisp sauce from scratch, featuring Omma's gochugaru pepper from the mountains of Gwangju, South Korea! I added toasted Sichuan peppercorns, shallots, garlic, ginger, onions, and a whole LOTTA love in this vegan and gluten-free sauce. This has an amazingly rich and umami flavor with mala spice that tingles ever so softly on your palate.

I'm not gonna lie, things are hard right now. I was out for 3 weeks due to strep, bronchitis and pneumonia but I'm back and healthy, working hard in my kitchen. Sales aren't what they've been in the past due to rising pricing and the economy. But please consider Tiny Chef when you want to treat yourself to a delicious meal made with love. Let's keep supporting small, local business because that's one of the many things I love about STL. I will continue to work hard creating new specials while bringing back the customer favorites. Fighting!!
