After a hard-fought campaign on her part, we’re proud to announce that June’s Dovetail Dog of the Month is… Nora!

You may point out that Nora ran unopposed, which is true, but we’d prefer to focus instead on her qualifications.

Nora’s built an impressive resume, including providing emotional support, maintaining office calm, and taking very professional naps. She’s also very adept at SEO and advanced digital strategy, but she doesn’t like to brag.

Organizing information. Summarizing ideas. Helping teams move faster. Spotting patterns. Saving time on repetitive tasks.

AI ISN'T great at being human... because it isn’t human. Makes sense.

AI can help support marketing, but the best marketing still comes from real perspective, lived experience, instinct, emotion, and understanding how actual people think and feel.

The future probably isn’t “AI vs humans.” It’s humans who know how to use AI well to support their human-based efforts.

Radio’s still relevant!

People still listen in the car. At work. During routines. And unlike social media, radio doesn’t disappear in half a second because someone got distracted by a video of a squirrel eating a stolen White Castle burger.

A good message repeated consistently still works. Always has!

Working in marketing long enough gives you some very strangely specific life skills.

Like being able to:
- summarize a complicated idea in one sentence or less
- spot terrible signage and remember details about it while driving 70 mph
- make a deadline work through sheer force of will
- translate vague feedback into something usable
- and explain “so, what exactly do you do?” at every family gathering

Honestly, half the job is creative problem solving. We’re pretty good at it.

Trade shows are basically organized overstimulation.

Everyone’s talking. Everything’s thinking. Half the room is giving out branded stress balls, with the other half giving away branded totes. There’s A LOT going on.

Good signage is a must. If people can understand who you are from 20 feet away, you’re already ahead.

Before the cookouts begin, we’re taking a moment to remember and honor those who made the holiday possible through their service and sacrifice.

Meanwhile, everyone reading it is quietly backing away. Sometimes, the fastest way to make a brand feel current is just sounding like a normal human being again.

If someone lands on your website and immediately has to ask, at any point in time,
“Wait… what do these people actually do?”

…you’ve already lost them.

People are moving fast online. Your website doesn’t need to say everything instantly, but it does need to say the important thing instantly.
