Every Monday, a different person leads our all-team meeting and shares an idea or inspiration. Today we got abstract. Senior Designer Alice Lee walked us through a blind contour drawing exercise.
Blind contour involves drawing without looking at the paper, and without lifting the pen from the page. It helps increase observation skills and hand-eye coordination, and produces an imperfect, abstract “sense” of the subject.
It can feel a little uncomfortable. The results can be surprising. But that's also what creativity's about.
