Miles Davis is 100 today!
The Sheldon has celebrated him all season long with MILESTONES: in March, we hosted jazz supergroup Unlimited Miles, with a pre-concert curtain talk by Kendrick Smith. In April, covered "Kind of Blue" live in our concert hall. You may have even noticed a colorful jacket that belonged to the trumpeter in our lobby!
When you look for Miles Davis, though, you can find him just about everywhere:
-Marcus Miller, an alum of Davis's band, also visited us this season.
-Davis's "Solar" was performed by Christian McBride & Edgar Meyer here in April.
-1,200 students learned about Davis at our education concert "The Jazz Story."
-And just this month, "The Sunny 60s" this month featured Miles Davis alongside other composers of the era.
Looking for more Miles? Join us for Branford Marsalis or John Scofield's ELECTROSPECTIVE — they played together on Davis's album "Decoy!"

What a night with The Klezmatics! 🎻✨
Celebrating 40 years as a band, The Klezmatics brought incredible energy, musicianship, and joy. It was a jubilant performance, full of wit and inimitable spirit.
The evening also featured a fascinating curtain talk, moderated by David Lazaroff of The Brothers Lazaroff, that explored the band's history and the evolution of their groundbreaking music.
What a special experience for everyone in the room.
