There are so many people who deserve recognition after this sale, and I could never fit all of the gratitude we have into one post… but I’m going to try!
First, St. Louis Crossfire Elite Volleyball Club & The Bud Dome…thank you for being such amazing hosts. We truly could not have asked for a better place or better people to work with. You made hosting this event easier than we could have hoped for, and we are so grateful.
And if you have kids interested in volleyball, my family has personally been part of Crossfire and I cannot recommend checking them out enough!
Next, Moms On a Mission
If you haven’t heard of them yet, PLEASE look them up.
Dawn and her team are some of the most incredible people, and they are constantly finding ways to pour back into our community. Between their quarter sales, back to school drives, year round pantry and so many other things they do, they are making an enormous difference for local families.
We are SO grateful to partner with them and to know that when our Loop De Lou community chooses to donate, those donations are going somewhere truly meaningful.
Then there is my family and every single volunteer who showed up, stayed late, worked long days, lifted approximately 7,000 pounds of clothing 😂, organized, sorted, checked in, checked out, cleaned, restocked and did whatever needed to be done.
We all got about a month’s worth of full body workouts packed into a week and will probably still be sore by the time the next sale rolls around. 🤣
We truly could not do this without you.
Our second sale in the books as Loop De Lou… and I truly could not be more thankful. ❤️
When I say we put EVERYTHING we have into these sales, I mean it. This is a small, family owned and family run business, and putting on an event like this is HARD. It takes months of planning, long days, late nights, a whole lot of lifting, organizing, problem solving… and usually a few moments where we wonder what the heck we got ourselves into 😂
But this sale was different.
It was easier. It was more fun. It was more successful. And most importantly, it reminded us exactly why we are doing this.
We are not going to get rich doing this. Honestly, when you factor in the time, work, hosting costs, rentals and everything that goes into putting on a sale it adds up quick!
And that’s okay.
Because that was never the point.
We want to keep costs as low as we can so that you get the most out of this. We want families to have an easy, affordable way to sell the things their kids have outgrown and make some money back. And we want families who are shopping to have access to the things they need without spending a fortune.
But even more than that… we want community.
We want Loop De Lou to be a place where our consignors know us. Where you can talk to us, laugh with us, trust us, tell us what worked and what didn’t, and feel like you’re part of something instead of just dropping off a bag of clothes and walking away.
We care about your stories. We care about what your families need. And we know firsthand how much a sale like this can help.
Some of the things that happened this week may seem so small, but they meant SO much to me.
Hearing someone say, “I’m so happy I was able to find “blank” for my kids.”
Hearing a consignor tell us, “We made way more than we expected!”
Or my personal favorite…
My infant somehow managed to p*e all over my shirt during the sale 😂 I had apparently packed 8 outfits for him and not a single extra shirt for myself. Without hesitation, one of our consignors pulled the tag off one of her own shirts while she was checking in and handed it to me.
THAT is what I mean when I say community.
It’s not just clothes. It’s not just toys. It’s not just a sale.
It’s families helping families.
It’s a mom making a little money back on the things her kids have outgrown.
It’s another family finding something their kids desperately need at a price they can actually afford.
It’s people showing up for each other.
And that means more to us than making a big profit ever could.
We are still learning. We are still growing. We are still figuring out better ways to do things every single sale.
But we are SO excited about where Loop De Lou can go.
Thank you for letting our little family business be a part of your families’ lives.
We are just getting started. ❤️
