Roman recently came in for some branding portraits for their therapy practice, and we had the best day together!!

Britany came in to see me for a pre and post mastectomy photoshoot, and while I have some gorgeous images to share from both or our sessions together, I wanted to start by sharing my favorite image with this lovely review she wrote for me

BOURBON, LEATHER, VINTAGE BOOKS, OSTRICH FEATHERS

I'm looking for six people who are interested in having a bo***ir session and helping me create images with this INCREDIBLE NEW SET. Plus you'll get some fabulous images throughout the rest of the studio.

For the new set think luxury, leather, bourbon, vintage books... aka cozy sexy library and bourbon bar vibes. Are you interested in coming in and checking it out? When H* came to see me for her maternity session, she told me she wanted some gorgeous photographs to document this special time, and that she didn't want them to be basic. Which to me sounded like we were going to have an amazing time creating some super stunning glamorous pregnancy photographs...which if you know me is one of my favorite things to do.

Even before I had my own pregnancy, I've always found this time to be so magical. Like ok, I know its science... but also there has got to be some magic involved too right? Growing a human from scratch is just so incredible to me. Add some perfect light and infuse it all with magical light and I'm so in!

Lovely images from gorgeous J*s session in the downtown studio. She brought in the most exquisite lingerie her partner had gifted to her, the details were just lovely 💚

Like many of my clients, J* came to me as a part of her journey to accept and love her body. Society's beauty standards have us turned so upside down that we struggle to simple exist in our skin and be kind to ourselves. Kind to the image we see in the mirror or the person we see in photographs of ourselves.

It is my honor and privilege to be a part of that journey for the women who come to see me. Hiring a photographer who understands light, angles, posing, and to be honest, the psyche of a woman, can be life changing. Imagine seeing photographs of yourself that you like... love even! Can I be super real here for a minute ? Let's talk about the weight of expectations we feel when it comes to professional headshots of ourselves...

First, we are supposed to look attractive in our photographs, right? Pretty, even. But not too pretty... if we are too pretty we might not be taken seriously.

Then, we need to look competent, like the boss even. Careful though, you don't want to look bossy, or *GASP* bitchy even.

Friendly, but not unserious.

Responsible, but not uptight.

You get the idea!

Being a woman in our society is often a tightrope, and having the right images to represent our professional persona matters.

This images of A* living her best life in rainbows and a disco dress always make me think of glimmers.

Glimmers are tiny micro moments of joy—fleeting, everyday moments that elicit a rush of happiness, gratitude, calm, peace, safety, or goodwill. Some examples of glimmers include: Spotting a rainbow. Hearing your favorite song in the grocery store. Feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin.

Life can be so overwhelming friends... make sure to take care of yourself as much as you can, and enjoy all of the glimmers life offers you 💖

Love this set of Lady Divina from Dallas!

One of the things I love the most about the studio is the incredible range of the light...

We get that side light for the dark and moody vibe, the sculpting light to really show off your curves, and the bright illumination that comes directly through the windows, and leaves structural shadows throughout the frame. There is more than that even, but these 3 images from B*s collection demonstrate those situations so beautifully I wanted to share them with y'all here 🩷

I love all of these for B*, but I think my fave is the one on the floor with the bright light, showing off her incredible blue eyes. Which is your favorite?
