Day 4: Star Wars

Honestly not much to say about this one… I was heavily inspired by “Ophelia” by John Everett Millais. With how Padme’s hair is styled during her funeral, I thought it would look lovely floating on the water with her attire slowly sinking into the dark abyss

Day 2 of : Childhood Crush

Well…. I loved the 2003 Peter Pan movie, and Jason Isaac’s portrayal of Captain Hook made me more interested in running away to Neverland to be a pirate then worrying about growing up 🫣

I have never, ever participated before, and I have no idea how much I’ll be able to this year with ren faire season starting, but I really wanted to try!

For today’s prompt, “Hello” I thought it was only fitting to draw myself as a mermaid and introduce myself!

My name is Katie, and I am an artist based out of the greater St. Louis area. I love all things fantasy and whimsical, so Mermay should be right up my alley right? Haha
My studio, and instagram, is named after my cat because she looks like a “little lion”. I considered drawing her as well but I don’t think a mermaid tail would suit her.

I’m so excited to see all the mermaids this month ✨

This event was very special to me as it was the first one were I debuted my own handcrafted pottery. I only brought a handful of cups because I was nervous no one would like my style but the amount of love those pieces received was incredible! I cannot wait to create and bring more fantasy inspired pottery, art, and stickers to an event near you!

I loved making this Princess Bride inspired art piece. The movie means so much to me as it is one of my favorites.
