What a jam-packed fourth day of !

Consulting was the major topic of the day. The littles learned what consulting is and the steps consultants take to evaluate a case. They even took on the role of consultants with special guest (representing ) as their client.

We finished the day off strong by finalizing 2 key details for our product before we bring it to market. With our pricing and marketing plans are in place, we are ready for tomorrow's presentations!

On our third day of , we went on special field trip to a place near and dear to us at Fishbowl.

, a beloved Dallas non-profit, serves homeless children and families. We have had the opportunity to work with them for several summers now, and we are continually inspired by their teachers and students alike.

At Vogel, we delivered the "Bye Bye Bags" we prepared at our traditional pre-Fishbowl gathering. Bye Bye Bags are given to every Vogel participant when they leave the facility. They are filled with pull-top protein, water, and snacks such fruit cups and goldfish. These bags ensure the children will eat dinner every night.

After our trip, we switched gears and moved in to product design and marketing for our business idea. We finished the day by finalizing our business title and outlining our expense report.

Tomorrow, they have a very special visitor, any guesses as to who it might be? 🙋‍♀️ 🙋‍♂️ 🙋

Day 2 at was a productive one! We continued our discussion from yesterday about potential problems that our product could solve. This turned into a discussion about the goals we wanted to set for our product (such as helping others, bringing people happiness, and more). We then brainstormed and created a mission statement!

For the rest of the day, we covered other economic topics such as markets, supply & demand, competition, and monopolies. The kiddos even played a quick game of monopoly to see these principles in action.

Can you guess whether our product is a good or a service? Stay tuned to find out!

🎶 Money, money, money
Must be funny🎶

And money was our focus today at Day 1 of . We started with a mini FishTank (think Sharktank but Fishbowl style!). The Bigs presented various products to the Littles for purchase like an a/c enhancer, a plug holder, a stoplight with a countdown, and a headphone wire clip. This activity introduced the Littles to a real-word discussion around investing and product viability. From there, we introduced economic basics such as value, inflation, purchasing power, and stocks.

The Littles then brainstormed potential problems to solve - their task is to conceptualize and develop a product to solve this problem and present it at the end of the week. Stay tuned for their creation!

Let the games begin!

We opened our first day with a mini Olympic Games ran by the bigs. The kids represented different cities of Ancient Greece (the nations of the first ever Olympics) and learned about the structure of the Olympic Games. 🏅

Then, we discussed the primary feature of the Olympics- the sports! We discussed defining aspects of sports and how to categorize them, allowing the kids to make important decisions like the number of sports they will create for their own Olympic Games on Friday!

And that’s a wrap at !! We debriefed our zoo visit by discussing the 4 animals from the African Savanna, the ecosystem that the littles chose earlier in the week.

They noted specific ways the lion exhibit could be improved, and they compiled their points in a hand written letter to the president of the Dallas Zoo.

Day 4 at was a blast! We visited the Dallas Zoo and saw some of our world’s ecosystems in action. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals, and we had some pretty important conversations about the habitats that we observed. Each Little chose an animal to research more extensively in order to prepare and write a letter to the Dallas Zoo tomorrow. They hope to advocate as the voice for needed changes!

Another successful day at ! We learned all about adaptations and why they’re important. Then, we created portfolios for our animal creations and discussed how they’d interact with each other in an ecosystem. Tomorrow we’ll be taking a special field trip! 🥳

It was the last day at !

After learning about paint and mixing colors, the Littles took to filling their museum with their original creations. We’re sad to see our mini’s go, but we are so proud of all their hard work.

Swipe for their exhibit! 🎨🖌🖼

Our mini’s conquered another fantastic day in ! They learned all about shapes and made the next exhibit of their museum. If you haven’t guessed it yet, their theme is Ancient Egypt! So, today, they applied their math knowledge to make stained glass hieroglyphics out of tissue paper.

Stay tuned for pictures of their creations tomorrow!!
