An Under Cover Weekend

With the number of people asking, I feel like I should make a post.

Unfortunately, I don't currently have the time, energy, and attention span to put on the type of event that I, and I believe everyone else who loves it, expects of AUCW. This event is an incredible labor of love and I just am not in a position to do it justice right now.

Nothing is wrong (thanks for your concern), I'm just in a different place in life — both family and career-wise — than I was over 13 years ago when this thing got started. I am listening to my body and trying to set healthy limits for what I chose to take on.

As for the future, I'm not sure. On the one hand, I could feel comfortable saying that I have accomplished everything that I set out to do, and more! But, I'm also not ready to officially say that it is over. The very regular messages reminiscing and asking about applying make it very hard to put AUCW down forever.

So, anyway… I want to sincerely thank everyone who continues to love this event — please don't stop bugging me about it! That said, I do appreciate the understanding that it just isn't something I can do right now.

An Under Cover Weekend takes this year off, but organizer eyes a 'rejuvenated' return One of St. Louis’ best conceptual concert series, An Under Cover Weekend, is going undercover itself this year.

After 12 straight years of producing AUCW, I have decided that it is time to take a break. I don't believe that I could do the show justice and give my family the focus that it needs right now, so I'd rather just take a pause and regroup, than do things distracted and half-way.

I plan to bring AUCW back next year and maybe we'll just skip unlucky number 13 in the numbering order. :)

Thank you so much for the support all of these years and I hope for our show to return to the stage very soon.

In 12 years we’ve presented 162 tribute sets (only 5 repeats), at 3 venues, across 32 nights, to thousands of people. This year, 159 local musicians from every part of the city, performed 15 sets over 3 nights to a jumping Delmar Hall, on a stage with a 100% locally made backline. We’re absolutely in awe of the scale that this humble little show has achieved and immensely proud of the support shown by our city. Thank you St. Louis —
