Congratulations to the 2022-2023 Black Leaders Advancing Community Change (BLACC) cohort!

These inspiring leaders of local nonprofits will embark on an 8-month leadership program together. During the program, leaders will foster relationships, build networks, receive skill building specific to nonprofit management, and work collaboratively. BLACC puts a strong emphasis on increasing self-awareness and understanding of the importance of Black leadership, and Black-led social change.

Please join me in welcoming this year's cohort!

A truth that must be considered when you are planning community engagement activities is that the attention span of your audience is likely far less than you imagine it is.

To keep audiences engaged with community engagement activities:
- Look for ways to “gamify” the activity and make it fun
- Communicate how the activity directly benefits community
- Give community something in return for their participation
