ATTENTION:

We have had some great news this week.

One of our friends in Festus was able to find an apartment and because of the foresight of our Program Manager reaching out to the community they will be moving in Monday! They will not be unhoused for the Winter!

We have another friend in High Ridge that was approved for a mobile home that needs to have some work done, but she will not be unhoused for the Winter as well.

We are.needing about $1500 to help our friend in High Ridge to do work on the mobile home. If you are able to help either by donating or giving of your time and receiving a gift in kind would work for you for supplies and time. We know that we need flooring and drywall work. Please reach out if you can help

Mark your calendar! We will have three opportunities to enjoy Thanksgiving for those who are looking for community and a time to reflect on how we can be thankful!

Here is a reminder about our upcoming trivia night! Last year was a great time! Come dressed to impress in your favorite holiday attire and decorate your table! We need auction baskets and there will be 50/50 raffles!! You won't want to miss it!

We partner with New Hope Cares each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays so our friends coming to our meal can take advantage of the shower and supplies they offer. If you know someone who is seeking community or needs this meal and their support please pass this along.

Today was a great day! Our team from Assumption was here and their fearless leader form the jump was back after being gone for the past 7 months. She has been battling cancer and today she was able to return! Her team kept the ship going over those months and did it with dedication and passion for those we serve. So thankful for our volunteers and their hearts to be the hands and feet of Jesus!! God is indeed faithful!

We were honored to have Congressman Onder stop by and visit our meal. Thank you for your support and encouragement.

It was an honor to visit St. Anthony’s Church in High Ridge, Missouri, where I learned more about The James II Project from its founder, Karin Kostich, and met the incredible team working alongside her to support local veterans and community members through some of life’s most difficult challenges.

It was inspiring to see firsthand the impact their work has on individuals and families throughout . Thank you to Karin and the entire team for welcoming me and, more importantly, for your continued commitment to serving those in need.

Yesterday we had over 40 people come share a meal with us! Everyone was thankful for the warm meal and we enjoyed catching up with many of our friends.

Today at Salvation Army we are seeing a lot of new faces and we were blessed to have one of our original volunteers prepare and serve his red beans and rice recipe! We served it with honey cornbread and salad. We always are thankful for the people God brings into our meal and get so excited when we watch prayers answered and circumstances improve for them.

One of our friends that has been attending our meal in Arnold lost the key fob to her vehicle and Meixner Automotive came to give her a key and when he saw the other conditions of her car and all the issues that needed to be repaired he waived his fee and asked that St. Vincent DePaul put that money towards repairs. Community partners are so important and we are so appreciative of all the various businesses that come alongside and do what they can to provide assistance for our friends. God is good, God is faithful and always keeps His promises!

We never know what God will bring our way.

Today we received a text from a sweet mom we have been working with who has three kiddos and is unhoused. We met a few weeks ago at Connect Church. She has been staying up by the airport and the kids attend Pattonville school district. So we reached out to Amanda with Valor Villages and she began a conversation with our friend. Then they lost touch. As it happened our Director was at a networking event and ran into a gentleman who introduced himself and he is with Valor Villages. He was able to make contact with our friend and they are supposed to meet this week. Fast forward to today and the text. She needed a few more nights at the hotel so her kids could go to school but mentioned they had not been able to wash their clothes. So we got a list and headed to Walmart. Once we arrived at church, because she attends Connect Church, we saw that she and the kids were outside with security. She was having chest pains and heaviness. 911 was called and long story short she and the kids were headed to the hospital. We reached out to her friend who brings her to church every Sunday and she came and got all the stuff we got for them. We also reached out to Amanda at Valor Villages and she put a call in to a caseworker at Mercy South that they are working with her. Her friend headed to the hospital. This my friends is how God loves to connect us all and shows that He is indeed in the details of our lives! God is good, faithful and always keeps His promises!! BELIEVE IT!

CAN YOU HELP?

We are looking for a gently used laptop for one of our friends in need that is going to school to get their associate's degree in the hopes to get a bachelors and then move into teaching. Any leads would be appreciated.
