Patti and Manny Alvarez’s home is full of love, laughter and plenty of paws. Their three dogs — Shanti, Murphy and the newest addition, Bad Bunny “Benito” — have completely taken over the household, and the couple wouldn’t have it any other way. At bedtime, all three dogs snuggle into Patti and Manny’s bed. As empty nesters, the couple admits their pets are “very, very, very spoiled” and truly run the house. They especially love cuddle time and entertaining visiting family members — including their furry cousins.

Most couples share a love for travel, but for Point residents Bill and Tammy Gaghan, “seeing the country” came with a very specific requirement: 26.2 miles on foot in every single state. Together, Bill and Tammy are the definition of energy and fun, and their journey across America is nothing short of extraordinary. To document their achievements, they joined the exclusive 50 State Marathon Club—a group that, as of May 2026, boasts just 2,113 members who have crossed the finish line in all 50 states. But the Gaghans belong to an even more elite club within a club. Together, they are one of only 103 married couples in the club who have both conquered the entire map.
