Today is the FIFTH anniversary of the store's opening! It hasn't always been easy, but the thing that has kept us going has always been the amazing community that turns out week after week to play and shop here. (Also, for a couple of years, we stuck around purely out of spite, and there was one time when we thought about closing but literally could not afford to.)

I don't think that any of us could have told you five years ago what Fortuna would look like in 2026 - Hannah, specifically, probably would have been confused about what that even is - but we're so glad that we've made it this far and we really do love getting to see you all when you come in. One of our absolute favorite parts of running the store is getting to see all the friendships that have been made here!

We're always looking for ways to make Fortuna even better, and we can promise you that, as long as we're open, we'll always stand behind our mission to create a fun and inclusive space to enjoy some games. (And no gofundmes, ever, because we don't do that here.) Also, if anybody ever sees a church for sale in a nice part of the city, please let us know (for reasons.)

✨Hi, folks! We're popping in to remind you of two big things:

🦸MTG Marvel Super Heroes Prerelease is coming in 3️⃣weeks, which means we're only 1️⃣week out before we drop the link for pre-registration on Thursday, June 4th at Noon! We normally post it up at 6 PM, so please note this change. We'll make a post on our socials as well as our discord when the link goes live!

⏳We're going to be closed next week starting Tuesday, June 2nd through Monday, June 8th! We'll reopen on Tuesday, June 9th with our normal hours.

Hi y'all, we hope your holiday weekend was all that you wanted it to be!

☠️ We're letting you know today about our One Piece Extra Grand Battle this Saturday, May 30th! We have spots for 32 people and we have over 50 folks signed up with the wait-list, which is A LOT! So here's the deal:

-If you're on the list and you know you're not going to make it, please drop yourself out so that other folks can have a clearer picture about whether or not they'll get in!

-Before we open Saturday morning, we will post (in our discord) the waiting list so you can see what order it's in. If you have more than 3 people in front of you in the waiting list on Saturday morning, it is *extremely* unlikely that we will have a spot for you. (This means that you probably don't need to show up, because it's going to be pretty crowded!)

-If you are on the list to play, **you absolutely MUST be here by 12:00 on Saturday.** As soon as our clock hits 12:01, we're going to open up any spots to people who are in the store on the wait list. Parking is always tough, and traffic can be unpredictable, so please make a plan to get here on time! We are going to do a strict no-exceptions thing on this one, because that seems like the most fair thing to everybody, so please don't show up at 12:01 and make us tell you that we gave your spot away!

We also want to remind everybody that we will be closed next week, so be sure to make it out to see us this week if you can ☺️

If you haven't already picked up a copy, stop in and buy one from us, because we accidentally ordered too many and also they came late! And if you HAVEN'T gotten into this series yet, we can't recommend it enough. These books and this world are just so much fun!
