I have a rare opening for a child 24 months or older in my south city in home daycare. I am located near Chippewa and Gravois. We’re open from 8 am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday. My weekly rate is $300, and my daily rate is $75.

I am a retired child therapist, with an extensive understanding of child development. I am dedicated to providing a loving and respectful home away from home for all the children in my care.

Respectful childcare is my passion. Your child will be safe and heard here.

I have a wonderful assistant who is with me 25 hours a week, so I rarely have to close unexpectedly. If one of us is sick or has an appointment, the other can cover the daycare.

We provide breakfast, lunch, and two snacks. The food is simple, home made, and focuses on lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. We can accommodate specially diets.

We are comfortable and experienced with cloth and disposable diapers, breastmilk and formula, extended breastfeeding, delayed potty training, and more. We will meet each child where they are.

We spend much of our time outside. We have a fenced yard and a sidewalk that is perfectly sloped for learning to ride a scoot bike. We take walks around our tower grove south neighborhood. We LOVE McDonald Park and walk there frequently.

We remain coronavirus-conscious. All of the workers, children, and family members have been vaccinated according to the cdc schedule including coronavirus vaccines and boosters. We sometimes mask indoors, especially when infection rates are high or we have illness in the daycare. Many of the families whose children attend are medical or research professionals. We work together to create and adjust our policies to balance keeping everyone healthy with keeping working.

If you think we might be a good fit for your family, please send me a message so we can arrange a tour and interview.

Advances in neurosience have taught us to move on from token boards. It's a controlling, inauthentic intervention that teaches a child to ignore their body so they can get their reward.

Some professionals like that control, so they will defend the use of them. They'll argue that "working for" tokens is the same as working for a paycheck. It's a terrible argument. This graphic only scratches the surface about why its a false equivalence.

Thank you to this amazing community for helping to build this infographic. Please SHARE this so we can ditch the tokens for more humane, compassionate supports for children. Let's choose connection over control.

Caring for children is much easier for me the second time around. I have a loving and supportive partner. We have enough money to pay our bills and take vacations. We are part of a village caring for our children. It makes a world of difference and it’s critical to acknowledge that difference.

Children are driven to learn. Present the tools and stay out of their way.
