כחלק מפעילות העמותה הקטנה שלנו JCS - Jewish Charitable Services , אנחנו תומכים במספר מבוגרים יהודים שחיים בבתי אבות באזור. לאחרונה נתרם מחשב נייד לאחת הנשים ואנחנו זקוקים למתנדב/ת שיכולים להשקיע שעה אולי שעתיים של הדרכת מחשב בסיסית עם האשה הנפלאה הזאת (אני מבטיח שלא ישעמם לכם). מאוד בסיסי: איך להתחבר לאינטרנט, איך לשלוח אימייל, איך לפתוח מסמך Word או Google docs. היא מאוד אוהבת לכתוב וזה ממש יעזור לה לשמור על שפיות ולהתחבר עם העולם. מצווה ענקית שתחמם לכם את הלב.

It is always a little bit sad mixed with happiness when we say goodbye.
Thank you Shaham and the Massuri family for the opportunity to take a small part in your amazing journey.
Shaham we wish you a safe trip home with your family and a quick recovery.
Thank you Walid Mula for a very interesting evening. We learned a lot about the Druze community and our brothers in arms through our joint service in the Israeli Defense Forces. You also shared your daughters experience growing up with Cerebral Palsy and the decision to travel all the way to St Louis for her, Yara, to have a selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) procedure with the best doctors in this field. It was a pleasure seeing your family today and witnessing Yara walking totally on her own. We wish you a safe flight back to Israel. It was a great pleasure to take a small part in your journey.

Thank you to all who attended Wednesday’s Jewish Charitable Services (JCS) workshop on Female Empowerment. We appreciate your interest in the JCS mission. Among other things JCS supports kids with cerebral palsy (CP) when they come to St. Louis for the life changing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery. Many kids only take their first unsupported steps of their lives after the SDR surgery.
We were lucky to host Raya Zeltzer Avrutsky who ran the workshop on Female Empowerment. Raya teaches and lives the concepts of Female Empowerment. Raya shared great tools for seeing the world positively.
