The Quarrelsome crew has one final coffee release for you all ~
We feel extraordinarily fortunate to serve this coffee from the Montero family, who graciously hosted us during our first trip to Costa Rica back in 2022 as we explored partnerships for fermentation experimentation. Their priority in retaining the natural forestry around their coffee plants sets them apart from more traditional farming practices, which typically involve creating large clearings for the coffee cherries to ripen in direct sunlight. This lot exhibits beautiful florals with soft undertones of berry and dark fruit.

All goodbyes are hard, but this one may be the hardest. Quarrelsome’s last day of service will be Sunday, February 2, 2025.
We can’t thank you enough for your endless enthusiasm and support that helped make our dreams a reality. We have loved being a part of the neighborhood and your everyday coffee routine. We are deeply humbled by the opportunities Quarrelsome has afforded, from exploring innovative coffee farms to forging lasting friendships with our growing partners. It has truly been a wild ride.
So let’s have a coffee or two together this coming week. Enjoy our perfectly (un)sweetened matcha one last time.

As a testament to sourcing coffees with unique approaches to fermentation, we’ve been eager to release this Koji-processed lot from . Koji is a type of mold more technically referred to Aspergillus Oryzae, which has been used for a millennia in traditional Japanese cooking. Over the course of the fermentation process, Koji spores create an enzyme called amylase, which effectively converts starches into fermentable sugars, ultimately resulting in coffees with a structured sweetness, tropical and berry-like fruit tones, and a subtle umami quality.
Now available on brew bar and in 12 oz retail bags — please note, we will be releasing a very limited amount of bags each week. The fresh roast always hits the retail shelf Tuesday afternoon 👌

Costa Rica is at the heart of our green buying program, thanks largely to the relationship we've established with our friends at Selva Coffee and their dedication to connecting roasters directly to producers in the region of Tarrazu, Dota, and beyond. We are honored to release our second lot from producer Ivan Solis and his incredible team at Santa Fe Beneficio, who operate a central processing facility in the small town of Santa Maria.
Full of lush, layered, jam-like fruitiness, this F1 variety certainly caters to those who enjoy coffees on the funky, exotic side.

Ivan Solis Higueronal F1 Ivan Solis, who we spent upwards of a month with this previous season cupping coffees, visiting nearby farms, and running trial fermentations with, brings us another phenomenal coffee.
