For decades, people with disabilities and their advocates have worked to ensure the right to live, work, and thrive in their communities rather than being isolated in institutional settings.
Today, community-based services and disability rights protections make it possible for people with disabilities to make choices about their own lives, build relationships, maintain connections with family and friends, and participate fully in their communities.
A lawsuit that Missouri is currently supporting could threaten these important protections. We urge you to take action by sending a message to Attorney General Hanaway and asking Missouri to withdraw from the lawsuit.
Your voice can help protect community living and the rights of people with disabilities.

Sean loves spending time at his DSP's family farm, where he helps care for horses, visits with dogs, and connects with family members, workers, and neighbors. Here he is able to build friendships, enjoy new experiences, and spend meaningful time in the community. The animals provide a calming presence, creating an environment where Sean can relax, engage, and thrive.

Last week, Emmaus clients, employees, and families enjoyed a wonderful evening together at Emmaus Night with the O'Fallon Hoots. With beautiful weather, great food, and plenty of smiles, fun was had by all as everyone gathered to cheer on the Hoots and celebrate community. Attendees enjoyed the all-inclusive ballpark fare, took part in the pregame parade around the field, snapped photos with friends, and created lasting memories throughout the evening. Events like these are a great reminder that some of the best moments are shared through friendship, fun, and time spent together.

This month, Emmaus clients and team members traveled to Jefferson City for Advocacy Day, meeting directly with lawmakers to share their experiences, discuss the importance of disability services, and thank legislators for their support of people with disabilities.
These conversations matter. When people with disabilities and their advocates share their stories, they help shape policies that impact lives across Missouri.
