Congratulations to another AMAZING Teacher of the Month, Xanthe Hardy! If you know her, you love her, and we are so proud to have her as part of our Merit staff. Enjoy getting to know her better below!

"I’m a science teacher, and I’ve been proud to teach Chemistry and 8th-grade science at Merit Academy for the past 15 years. I graduated from BYU with a BS in Molecular Biology, and I love bringing the magic of science to life for my students. When I'm not in the classroom or the lab, you can usually find me riding horses with my husband or catching up on my favorite K-dramas. I am also a mom to four amazing, grown-up kids. Even though they are all adults now, we are still a bunch of nerds at heart—we love to dress up in cosplay and go to FanX together every year!"

Join us for Parent Information Night from 5:00–7:00 PM Thursday, October 1st! Come connect, ask questions, and hear what’s ahead for Merit.

Congratulations to our Staff of the Month, Audrey Merighe! Audrey is loved by all and is such an incredible, infectious person to be around. Here is a little more about our amazing Food Services Director:

"I joined Merit Academy nine years ago after spending 7.5 years working in school kitchens at two other charter schools. Throughout my career, I have worked in many different roles, including food preparation, serving, management, and now as Food Service Director for the second time.

I was born in Brazil and moved to the United States almost 30 years ago to be with my husband. I have two boys who mean the world to me! I love traveling, gardening, and spending time with my family.

Working at Merit Academy has been an amazing experience. I love seeing the students every day and interacting with them as they get their meals. I always try to make our kitchen a happy, welcoming, and safe place for everyone.

My coworkers are like family, and they make coming to work each day something I truly enjoy. I am grateful for my wonderful team and proud to be part of the Merit Academy community."
