This person came in needing to switch out her nostril piercing that she did herself with a kit she bought on Amazon. When I went to take out the earring I realize there was no way to get it out with the single use tools I use in my studio. As you can see in the photo, the back of the earring is a sharpe little hook, making it impossible to take out of her nostril without cutting the earring off. I ended up suggesting her to go the ER because of the swelling.

She told me the reason she did it herself was because she wanted to save some money. In the end, she ended up paying a lot more than if she would she would’ve just come in for a nostril piercing.

I understand everyone has a budget and money can be tight, especially this time of the year. Piercings are one thing that should not be skimped on. I charge $35 for a nostril piercing and jewelry starts at $15 per earring. You could get a sterile piercing with implant grade titanium for $50 with me. Do your research on piercings and your piercer to insure a good experience.

This is a judge-free zone. Seeing things like this, just makes me sad and makes me want to educate anyone maybe thinking of buying a kit or piercing device off the internet. Please do some research and figure out what is best for you and your body. I’m also happy to answer any questions 🫶🏼

New helix and low mid helix, the start of a curated ear. Her helix piece is everything 🤌🏽

Pierced this daith April 2023. Switched from a gold ring to a downsized, anodized, Dahlia, hinged clicker. Kite gem in her third, and a gemmed hinged clicker in her helix. Her style is so cute 🤍🖤

This is my cute dental hygienist ear. She volunteered to get her daith pierced when her friend started her three day piercing course. A year later her daith is almost fully rejected.

How does rejection happen?

▪️Person is pierced who does not have the anatomy for the specific piercing.

▪️Piercing is too shallow/not enough tissue to stabilize piercing.

▪️Low quality jewelry and/or ill-fitted jewelry.

▪️Pregnancy and/or significant body weight fluctuations.

▪️Trama to the piercings i.e. a bad snag or tear.

Common places rejection can happen but are not limited to are:

Micodermals
Eyebrows
Navels
Ni***es

Unfortunately with this daith piercing, the initially piercing was done too shallow, which eventually lead to her daith rejecting a year later.

Rejection doesn’t happen over night, but are slowly moved out of the tissue over time.

I started piercing in October 2023, we did her lower helix, nostril, rook, upper conch, and navel! (NOT all at the same time 😳) We switched out her lower conch jewelry for a spike and I’m stoked out it turned out.
