We will start a Self-Esteem/Self-Compassion group for ADULT WOMEN ages 18+.
The group will begin Thursday, March 17th, and will be weekly from 7:30pm-8:30pm at our office.
*Your insurance plan may cover this group.
This group will be led by Caroline Knight, CMHC at our office, 20/20 Counseling Center, in Springville, Utah.
This group will cover 2 important aspects that define self-esteem:
*Loving yourself and knowing who you are, and believing that others see your worth and value too (your personality, your positive character traits, and knowing your personal value system)
*Loving the body that houses who you are- working towards having a more positive body image (letting go of comparison, perfectionism, and judgment)

Realistic Optimism??? One might suggest that if we merely think positive thoughts and beliefs that everything will turn out, but..... this belief is a fallacy, just as the erred belief that pessimism will protect us from being hurt by surrounding circumstances.
There is a spectrum of thinking and addressing life's highs and lows, but the healthiest consistent pattern of practice is facing the future through a lens of "Realistic Optimism".
A Realistic Optimist will create more accurate assessments of reality, and as they imagine all the possible outcomes, there will be increased ability to foresee obstacles while consistently seeking out viable solutions and "workarounds".
Realistic optimists believe in their capacity for GROWTH... their human potential".
