Elizabeth’s friends and family are devastated to announce that she passed away from Stage IV colon cancer on December 7, 2025.

Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband and daughter, her parents, and an enormous community of readers who loved her and her stories. Writing was more than a profession for Elizabeth–books were the passion that guided her life. She was an avid reader from a young age and always loved exciting, plot-driven novels; from that young age, she always dreamed of being an author herself. Her writing ultimately made her a New York Times and Top 5 Amazon bestselling author. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and have tens of thousands of five-star reviews. She not only wrote riveting young adult, paranormal, and fantasy romance novels, but spent much of her career mentoring other writers, including at-risk teens in her local community. All through her cancer journey, she continued to offer support and advice to other authors in her circles, including strategies to manage life as an author during times of illness. When she wasn’t writing, she could often be found with her family surrounded by her pack of fluffy white dogs. She also loved attending San Diego Comic-Con every year for her birthday and visiting Disneyland as long as she was able to.

If you would like to support Elizabeth’s family, please honor her by buying her books. If you don’t own them all, now is a great time to finish your collection. If you’re an avid fan with a full shelf of Elizabeth’s novels, consider giving a few as gifts. If you’re an author, her final wish was for you to put an awesome Liz or Elizabeth in one of your upcoming books so she can live on in your fictional world. Some part of her will always be alive as long as her stories have readers and as long as she’s remembered by you.

Thank you for being one part of her story that will live on.

If Elizabeth or her books had a positive impact on your life, please leave a comment that can be shared with her daughter someday.
