This week's featured read aloud is Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade by Melissa Sweet. It is a biography of Tony Sarg, an expert puppeteer that designed the first tethered helium-filled balloons featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Rountree Library is honored to receive a $1,000 from the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools! We will use these funds to purchase library books written by culturally diverse authors featuring culturally diverse characters in the hopes that it will encourage empathy, tolerance, inclusion, and social justice across our school community! Thank you to the and the Springfield community for making these grants accessible to SPS employees across the district!
