Following Jesus was never meant to be something we do alone. We need people who will open God's Word with us. People who will ask good questions, pray with us, encourage us, and help us recognize where God may be asking us to grow.

That's why this fall, we're not just inviting West Side to experience Sundays—we're inviting EVERYONE to find a group! Beginning Sunday, October 18, we'll spend five weeks in the book of Nehemiah, discovering what God can do through our heartbreak, our prayers, our courage, and our surrender. You'll also receive a FREE Shine devotional to help you spend time in God's Word throughout the week and come ready for meaningful conversation with your group.

Our hope isn't simply that you'll know more about Nehemiah when these five weeks are over. It's that you'll know God more deeply—and have people beside you as you follow him.

A quick update for families who use our indoor playground:

Beginning Monday, October 19, the playground will be CLOSED for weekday daytime play. The final day of weekday open play will be Thursday, October 15.

We’ve loved seeing this space become a place where families play, connect, and build relationships. As its use has grown, we’ve also found that weekday open play requires more consistent hosting than we’re able to provide alongside the ministries and activities happening throughout the week.

The playground will still be available during Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming throughout the school year and for scheduled ministry events. And we’re not finished with this space; we hope to find additional ways for families to enjoy it in the future.

125 years celebrated…and God’s not done!

Through our 125th Anniversary Celebrations, we've reflected on God's faithfulness through every season of West Side's history.

We've celebrated the people who came before us, remembered the moments that shaped us, and looked ahead to the opportunities God is placing before us. Time and again, we were reminded that every generation played a role in helping people find and follow Jesus.

Now it's our turn.

As we step into this next season, which we’re calling Shine, we're not simply celebrating what God has done — we're joining together to help write the next chapter of West Side's story. The same mission that inspired a group of believers 125 years ago continues today, and each of us has a part to play.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared stories, contributed memories, and helped make our 125th Anniversary so meaningful. 125 years ago, a church was born. Today, that story continues, and we're excited to see what God will do through West Side in the next 25 years and beyond!
