City Councilor Sean Curran introduced a resolution requesting the return of $3 Million Dollars in casino mitigation money to Springfield and Western Massachusetts. The measure passed

Thank you to Senator Gomez and Senator Oliveria for submitting an amendment restoring $3 million dollars in Casino mitigation funds cut from Springfield. My City Council colleagues are in full agreement, that in the name of regional equity, the funding should be restored. An emergency meeting of City Council will be held to support the amendment on October 22, @ 5pm.

Major courthouse project proposed for downtown Springfield Springfield city leaders are advocating for a new courthouse to be built downtown at the intersection of Lyman and Chestnut Streets, as the deadline for proposals approaches on October 16.
