Flower Communion is here! This simple, yet powerful ritual - unique to Unitarian Universalism - calls us to acknowledge and celebrate the many individuals and gifts that make up our community. You are invited bring a cut flower to add to our display. (We will have plenty on-hand, too!) You will be invited to leave with a different flower, symbolizing the exchange of gifts & connections that occurs in community.
Weather permitting, we will gather outside! We will have some folding chairs & picnic tables available, but if you have a favorite outdoor/beach chair or blanket, please bring it. For those who require on-grade parking, please park in the upper lot. For those who don't, please leave room for others.
Join us this Sunday- One Service Only @ 11AM. We gather as one like this a few times a year. Since we knowchange is hard... snacks and coffee will be available around 9:30AM for those who still wish to gather then, as well as after the 11AM service.

Juneteenth is more than a holiday.
It is a celebration of freedom, resilience, joy, and the enduring spirit of Black Americans.
On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that more than 250,000 enslaved people were free. That day became known as Juneteenth and has been celebrated ever since as a milestone in the ongoing journey toward freedom and liberation.
Today, we honor the generations who resisted, dreamed, created, built community, and expanded the promise of freedom. We celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans and the legacy of hope that Juneteenth represents.
We encourage you to learn, reflect, and celebrate with the National Museum of African American History & Culture. Explore their Juneteenth resources at the link in the comments.
On the Soulful Supper menu tonight: Mandarin soba noodle green salad with chicken. Gluten free, veggie, and simple options available. All are welcome!

First they came for the Communists,
And I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Socialists,
And I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
And I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
And I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—
And there was no one left
To speak out for me.
— Pastor Martin Niemöller
Recently, the U.S. Defense Department cut their list of religious designations from more than 200 to just 31. Among those who did not make the cut...? You guessed it: Unitarian Universalists.
Not only is this restriction shortsighted (as Unitarian Universalists in uniform deserve to have their bealiefs affirmed and supported). Not only is it offensive theologically (as each and every person has the inherent ability to perceive truth for themselves). Not only is it politically problematic (as everyone should be free to believe - or not - in a democracy like ours). This restriction is also completely ignorant to the history of UUs and of these United States.
This Sunday, Rev. Jason will help us to consider the facts... as well as the role - then and now - of religious liberalism: of open minds, individual freedom, and pluralistic democracy. Our theme for the month is Flourishing Together. Let us do just that.
Worship begins 9:30AM (in person only) or 11AM (in person and online). All are welcome!

“Spirituality mixed with comfort, understanding, less judgment” — that’s how UUSGS board member Janae describes the spiritual home she found here after searching for it in other congregations.
Our community’s embrace of exploration is a warm welcome to those who aren’t locked into a particular faith tradition — and who don’t want to be. “If you want to figure out your spirituality and it doesn’t have to be stagnant and fixed, then UU is for you,” Janae says.

The music is the message this Sunday. Sung just for you... the UUSGS Adult Choir has been (joyfully!) hard at work for months working on a selection of pieces by renowned choral composer Elaine Hagenberg.
This morning's program features a mixture of styles and is sure to inspire!
All shall be Amen and Alleluia.
We shall rest and we shall see.
We shall see and we shall know.
We shall know and we shall love.
Behold our end which is no end.
-- St. Augustine
