These adorable little helpers created 30 cheerful spring cards and flowers to give to the Meals on Wheels clients in our area. Thank you for hosting this event! It always warms our hearts to see such small hands making a big difference in our community.

Our volunteers had a lot of fun at American Legion post 83 helping make ‘Thank You’ posters for our veterans as a part of the American Legion Post’s anniversary celebration on March 27th. 🎉 Post 83 is home to approximately 500 members across its entities supporting veterans and the local communities with many charitable events held each year. Thanks for coming out to support this organizations generous work!

Last week dozens of families came to the Springfield library, during their craft time, to help assemble craft bags for the Lunar New Year event happening later this month. Volunteers helped Oregon Multigenerational Community Center put together bags to hand out at the Lunar New Year Celebration event which is on February 28th, in the Springfield City Hall Lobby. Thank you to all the helpers and we hope to see you on the 28th!

Peek-a-boo! 👀 Our preschool helpers had lots of fun and worked well together last week to decorate 3 donation bins for the , a nonprofit that aims to end the diaper needs in our community. 🍼 was generous enough to host this community service event and the good news is they will be collecting diaper and wipe donations for a few more weeks at the Springfield Library. Diaper packages can be opened, but wipe containers must be unopened. Thank you to all those who came out to show our kiddos that helping others feels good and is fun! And thank you to all those who donated and plan to donate to this amazing organization.

Thank you Springfield Public Library for hosting this diaper drive! Lane County Diaper Bank is such an amazing nonprofit who we were so grateful to be able to partner with for last week's event.

If you’re reading this, you probably believe, as we do, that giving children opportunities to serve their community truly matters. Over the years, we’ve heard from so many adults who say they never had positive, hands-on service experiences growing up, and now deeply understand how impactful and fulfilling they can be. That’s exactly why Little Hands Can exists.
For the past 10 years, we’ve built trusted relationships with more than 50 local Eugene and Springfield nonprofits such as Eugene Parks & Open Spaces, Nearby Nature, Little Critter Crew, Greenhill Humane Society, Willamalane Park and Recreation District, KITS, Ophelia's Place, Bags of Love, Friends of Trees, Lane County Diaper Bank, Oregon Community Programs, Food for Lane County, Adventure! Children's Museum, Springfield Public Library and Ronald McDonald House Charities to name a few.
We take the work out of the equation for families by creating meaningful, age-appropriate volunteer projects that help kids learn empathy, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your support. If each of our volunteers contributed even $15, we could cover our essential annual costs: event insurance, our website, and the basic administrative pieces that keep us running.
This year, we have TWO easy ways to donate:
✨ PayPal (new!)
https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/MPWCV2AU7HY4C
✨ Our Website (always appreciated!)
https://littlehandscan.org/donate
Your gift helps ensure we can continue showing up for families and for our community, growing future generations who are kinder, more inclusive, more empowered, more purposeful, and more connected.
Thank you for being part of this work. Together, we make it possible.
With gratitude,
The Little Hands Can Team

Do you enjoy baking and would like to bring warmth and cheer to someone with food insecurity this Thanksgiving season? This November 24-25th, the Dining Room at is asking everyone if they can bake some homemade treats and then individually wrap 1-3 treats (depending on how big they are) and bring them to the The Dining Room on November 24th and 25th, to be handed out on Thanksgiving. There will be 300-400 people with food insecurity being served a Thanksgiving meal that week so spread the word in hopes that we can get a homemade treat to each person and family. These homemade gestures really brighten their spirits.
The Dining Room is accepting donations from 9-3pm on Monday November 24th and Tuesday November 25th. If you use peanuts please label your individually wrapped plastic or wax bags as such. Please call Josie at (541) 222-0010 when you arrive and someone will come out to collect your generous homemade treats.
The Dining Room Address is:
270 W 8th Ave in Eugene, Oregon.
Thank you so much for spreading sweetness and cheer this holiday season!

Thank you Ronald McDonald House: Springfield at the PeaceHealth Heartfelt House! We feel the same and we are always so happy to come in and support your amazing organization and the families who stay there.
🎃❤️ here at the Heartfelt House ❤️🎃
At the Springfield House, we believe that supporting families takes more than just a roof over their heads. It takes intention. It takes heart. And it takes a community that shows up with love.
Today, our friends from Little Hands Can stopped by to help us bring a little Halloween magic to the House. With paper, glue, and a whole lot of imagination, they created festive decorations to brighten the spaces where families rest and recharge.
It may seem like a small gesture, but joy has a way of growing when it’s made with care. We are so grateful for moments like these that remind us how much stronger we are when we come together.
Thank you to every volunteer, partner, and supporter who helps make this House feel like home.
